Search our public registers for information on EPA's permission decisions and other regulatory activities.

Our public registers list our decisions and regulatory activities under the Environment Protection Act 2017(opens in a new window). By law, we must maintain this information and make it available to the community.

This includes information about:

  • businesses that hold a permission – for example, a licence, permit or registration
  • performance reports from permission holders
  • compliance and enforcement activities
  • environmental audits and auditors
  • compliance codes, position statements and statutory guidelines.

We update the information on our public registers overnight. This means there may be a delay of up to 24 hours before information is up to date.

Register of permissioning decisions

You must get a permission from us to conduct certain activities that have risk of harm to human health and the environment.

Our permissions include licences, permits and registrations. We also issue authorisations and exemptions.

The register lists the permissions and other instruments we've issued since 1 July 2021:

  • development licences
  • operating licences
  • pilot project licences
  • permits
  • registrations
  • exemptions from development licences
  • exemptions from operating licences
  • exemptions from permits
  • section 459 exemptions
  • temporary authorisations for waste discharge or disposal
  • specific waste designations
  • permission information and performance statements.
  • better environment plans

General waste designations are listed on the Register of general waste designations.

Annual performance statements submitted before 1 July 2021 are listed on the Register of annual performance statements.

Each record provides:

  • permission or statutory document ID
  • issue date and expiry date
  • status
  • location
  • activity
  • permission holder name and address
  • any conditions that apply
  • any waste information associated with the permission
  • any permission information and performance statements
  • statutory document, if available.

Email contact@epa.vic.gov.au to request a copy of:

  • a statutory document not available on the register
  • any permission issued before 1 July 2021.
